|Anodic protection is designed to reduce and prevent exposure of galvanic corrosion on the hull of the vessel and its aggregates. Zinc anodes are used in salt water. When storing the vessel on the shore, protective anodes are oxidized and the level of galvanic corrosion protection becomes very low. Before launching the anodes must be cleaned with sandpaper to remove any oxides. The anode is recommended to replace if it is decreased more than 1/3 of its original size.|

- Zinc anodes recommended for use in salty and brackish waters.
- Aluminum anodes designed for use in both salt and fresh water (visually it does not decrease and run-out of the anode must be determined by weighing.)
- Magnesium anode applicable only for fresh water, but provide better protection.
Carefully think about the choice of the material of the anode protection, consider local conditions.
Never paint over the protective anodes!
